SEMEN CARDONA TOOK PART IN THE TESTICULAR ECOGRAPHY TRAINING COURSE ORGANIZED BY THE ANPS

Semen Cardona took part in the training course on testicular ultrasonography in boars. The activity took place at the CREBA (Science and Experimental Applied Biomedical Research) in Lérida on May 17th. The course was organized by the ANPS (Asociación Nacional de Porcino Selecto).
The methodology and utility of the ultrasonographic study of the testicular area in working boars was presented. The course was structured in three parts, a theoretical and two practical ones,  in which, after a brief review of the anatomical structures of the boar and the basic principles of ultrasound, some pathologies of the scrotal area of ??the boar and its ultrasound diagnosis were reviewed.
Later in the practical sessions the technicians of the studs had the opportunity to practice with the ultrasound equipment in both, live animals and testicles from slaughter house, and  they learn to identify structures and possible pathologies. Finally, they had the opportunity to analyze the images and videos taken during the session with the ECOTEXT software for the evaluation of the testicular parenchyma.

This technique allows an earlier and more accurate diagnosis of potential reproductive problems with the final objective of optimizing the quality of the doses produced as well as the ratio of doses produced per boar place.
Semen Cardona has as a priority the constant training to apply the latest technologies in its own studs as well as in the customer studs to which it offers its advice.
